Tens Kilograms Hydroponic Water Spinach Harvested in Pramuka Island

Tens kilograms water spinach were freshly harvested from Pramuka Island Balai Warga Hydroponic Park, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands.

We hope hydroponic garden can be used as an effort to maintain food security in the region

Panggang Island Urban Village Acting Head (Plt), Iskandar mentioned, harvested water spinach was distributed to local residents to help them meet their needs of food.

"We harvest 30 kilograms water spinach in total. Hopefully it can be useful for residents affected by COVID-19 pandemic to meet their daily needs," he conveyed, Wednesday (6/2).

Not only water spinach, his side also harvested 50 kilograms catfish which cultivated in fiber tubs by utilizing circulating water from hydroponic plants, such as water spinach, green mustard, and bok choy which placed on top of it.

"Catfish is rich in protein, which is very good to fulfill children's nutrition," he added.

In the location, he also planted chili, eggplant, and medicinal plants. Those hydroponic plants are treated by RT/RW administrators who joined Pramuka Island Tangguh Jaya Village.

"We hope hydroponic garden can be used as an effort to maintain food security in the region," he said.
